If your fields aren't showing up in your store, there are a few issues you could be encountering and a few ways to test them.
- The app is designed for store administrators to enter data that is usually shown to site visitors. The app is not designed to create fields that your customer can fill in when visiting your store. The app only creates fields that you and your team can fill in on the back-end of the store. Those values are then shown to your customers when they visit the item you added information to. For example, you want to show an additional attribute about your product that is unique to each product you sell, such as the product's Country of Origin.
- Maybe you haven't entered any data into the field you created? For example, you created a product called "watch" and you created a field called "band type" and you're looking at a watch in your store. If the watch you're looking at doesn't have a value entered into it in the app for "band type" nothing will be displayed. To add or check that there is a value for the field, go to Product > Search > Edit Custom Field. From here you will see all your Product fields, where you can check if "band type" has a value in it.
In this example, Band Type did not have a value in it, so we can add one now and click Save.
- Perhaps you haven't finished installing the app? If you haven't updated your theme to print the fields they won't show up. In order for the values of your fields to be printed, you may either use our 1-click install system or install the app manually (for advanced customizations).
If for whatever reason this Install failed, check out our Manual Install tutorial
- Is your page hidden? If you page Custom Fields still aren't printing after all of the above steps are complete, check to see if your page is hidden. Shopify has a metafield bug that when pages are hidden, the fields do not show up properly. If you make a product page visible again, your Custom Fields will begin rendering properly.
